THE CAPSTONE GLOSSARY OF TERMS™

A shared language for clarity, identity, and navigation.

Capstone Method Glossary™

A shared language for clarity, identity, and God-led navigation.

This glossary gives you the core terms, concepts, and frameworks used throughout the Capstone Method™. Each definition is simple enough for anyone to understand, but deep enough to support real transformation. Whether you’re navigating a personal transition, working with a coach, or becoming a Navigator yourself, this page will help you interpret your season, understand the map, and move forward with confidence and peace.

SEASONS OF IDENTITY™ (CAPSTONE SEASON MAP™)

Life unfolds in spiritual and emotional seasons. These cycles help you interpret where you are and what God is shaping in you.

Preparation Season

Client Meaning:
A season of gathering, learning, and quiet setup. You feel something new coming, but it’s not fully formed yet.

Coach Depth:
Clients often feel unsettled or “in between.” Their identity is loosening, but clarity hasn’t arrived yet.

Navigator Insight:
Preparation is about capacity-building: pruning noise, opening space, listening, and readying the soul for direction.

Pruning Season

Client Meaning:
A season of letting go—relationships, roles, beliefs, or habits that no longer fit who you’re becoming.

Coach Depth:
Emotional resistance appears here. Coaches help clients release attachments and reconnect with peace.

Navigator Insight:
Pruning reveals purpose by subtracting what is not aligned. It’s an identity refinement season, not punishment.

Growth Season

Client Meaning:
Momentum returns. You gain clarity, energy, and direction. New opportunities appear.

Coach Depth:
Help the client avoid overextension; guide them toward rhythms and systems that support sustainable growth.

Navigator Insight:
Growth must be rooted, not reactive. Navigators help clients grow in alignment, not speed.

Breakthrough / Harvest Season

Client Meaning:
You experience clarity, peace, results, or major shifts that confirm your path.

Coach Depth:
Coaches help clients integrate success with humility, gratitude, and continued grounding.

Navigator Insight:
Breakthrough is both revelation and responsibility. The harvest sustains others as well.

THE PAVAO PROCESS™ (4 STAGES OF IDENTITY WORK)

Transformation happens internally through four repeating identity stages.

Stage 1: Orientation & Awareness

Client Meaning:
You’re beginning to understand where you are and what’s happening inside you.

Coach Depth:
Coaches help surface beliefs, patterns, and emotions without judgment.

Navigator Insight:
Orientation is about seeing clearly before moving.

Stage 2: Identity Disentangling

Client Meaning:
You’re letting go of false identity layers, fears, attachments, and narratives that no longer serve you.

Coach Depth:
Disentangling is delicate. Coaches hold space, reflect truth, and avoid forcing outcomes.

Navigator Insight:
This is pruning on the inside. It clears space for God-led identity reconstruction.

Stage 3: Identity Reconstruction

Client Meaning:
You’re rebuilding with truth—defining who you are becoming and aligning your decisions.

Coach Depth:
Focus on strengthening identity statements, new beliefs, new patterns, and micro-intentions.

Navigator Insight:
Reconstruction is the architecture of the soul. Identity becomes structure.

Stage 4: Identity Embodiment

Client Meaning:
You begin living out your identity with consistency and confidence.

Coach Depth:
Support clients as they step into rhythms, habits, and practical behaviors that match their identity.

Navigator Insight:
Embodiment is the bridge between revelation and transformation.
It turns identity into destiny.

ARC Statement™ (Bridge Between Stories)

ARC = Awareness → Refocus → Clarity

The ARC Statement™ is a simple, practical way to understand the story you’re living now and the story you want to move toward. It connects where you are with where you’re going by helping you name:

  • Your current story: the truth of where you really are
  • Your season: what life is asking from you right now
  • Your desired story: who you are becoming
  • Your next micro-intention: the smallest aligned action that builds momentum

It’s not therapy.
It’s not a personality test.
It’s the most practical way to create direction, identity clarity, and emotional momentum.

Client Meaning:
A simple statement that bridges your current story to your desired one. It reveals the shift, desire, or internal direction your heart already senses.

Coach Depth:
This is where insight becomes clarity. You help the client articulate the emotional posture, internal shift, or perspective change that connects the present story to the next one. The ARC becomes the backbone of the session.

Navigator Insight:
An ARC Statement reveals what must change internally, what micro-intentions will ignite momentum, and the first steps toward identity embodiment. It becomes the map we follow in coaching — a bridge from awareness to aligned action.

SHOWUP9™ (THE PRESENCE GAUGES)

Nine relational gauges that help you show up grounded, honest, and aligned.

Client Meaning:
How you show up affects your peace, your relationships, and your growth.

Coach Depth:
Use ShowUp9 to spot emotional or relational misalignment.

Navigator Insight:
Presence determines influence; influence shapes connection; connection drives transformation.

A framework for emotionally grounded, identity-aligned presence.

These nine elements describe how you show up in your relationships, work, leadership, faith, and personal story.
Together, they form the emotional and relational foundation for transformation.

1. Show Up Present

You bring your full attention—mind, body, and spirit—to the moment. You listen, notice, and respond instead of drifting, numbing, or defaulting to autopilot.

2. Show Up Honest

You tell the truth about what you feel, want, fear, and need—first to yourself, then to others—with clarity, humility, and integrity.

3. Show Up Humble

You approach people, challenges, and conversations without ego or defensiveness. You stay open to learning, being wrong, and being changed.

4. Show Up Curious

You choose exploration over assumption. You ask questions, seek understanding, and stay interested rather than reactive or judgmental.

5. Show Up Hopeful

You believe growth is possible. You see potential in yourself, others, and the future—even when circumstances feel uncertain.

6. Show Up Committed

You follow through. You show up consistently, take responsibility, and align your actions with your values and long-term goals.

7. Show Up Courageous

You face discomfort with steadiness. You take the next right step even when it’s vulnerable, risky, or emotionally challenging.

8. Show Up Responsible

You own your part—your choices, your reactions, your patterns, your impact. You stop assigning blame outward and take leadership inward.

9. Show Up Centered

You stay emotionally grounded. You return to peace, clarity, and internal balance so you can act with intention instead of reactivity.
